Just got a Tablet and have no idea how to use it?

Today I just got a Tablet from someone who is very dear to me. The problem is, I'm not sure how to use it? I've been using Microsoft paint, which seems to work, but it isn't satisfying me. Is there any paint like paint out there that is better and can be used with the Tablet? If so can someone please tell me what it is, I really want to start putting shading and digitizing most of my drawings.
